Travelers who choose to hitchhike can count on special support; drivers are rarely deterred by a lack of payment, as a guest is perceived as a long-awaited visitor.

I once witnessed an incident at a high-mountain pass where a motorcyclist was stranded due to a mechanical breakdown. Local residents immediately stepped in, loading the motorcycle into their vehicle and driving the owner to the nearest settlement for repairs.

Another striking example occurred in the city of Cholpon-Ata, where a man fell while rollerblading. A group of passersby immediately approached to help, seated him on a chair they brought out, treated his wounds, and served him hot tea.

Such instances may seem like small details, but it is precisely these moments that make staying among the Kyrgyz people so warm and pleasant.
